My work schedule was kindof hectic this year for the Christmas holiday: I worked the 23rd 8 to 5; Christmas Eve from 2 pm to 10 pm then I came back to work Christmas Day from 8 am to 4 pm. (I also worked the day after Christmas but that was because a coworker wanted Friday night off and I got a Saturday off- SWEET! I told you I work with a great group of people....)
Christmas Eve I went to my sister Ann's home. She had all her children there (ok, 3 of them still live there, Tyler 9, Erika 12 and Sara 19) and Mike and his wife Shelly were there with there with 2 year old daughter Aceley. Grandma Loney (Brian's mom) slept over too. Duane came with me. We got there around 11:30 pm and couldn't settle down until almost 3 am! Tyler came and woke us at o'dark thirty (6:15) and we opened presents and had donuts and milk. We got some great family pictures, a George Foreman grill :), and I finally got a living room clock.
Aceley got a plastic baby buggy and before long she was putting Daddy and Ty-ty's cars in the buggy along with her dolly and giving them rides around Nana's living and dining room. Later she was follow them with her plastic vacuum cleaner. She's a cutie...no brag, just fact.
We had another major snow "event" on Christmas night- a foot of snow or more...they never did plow our cul-de-sac and Du spent hours shoveling. I wouldn't say he enjoys it but he has been seen smiling from time to time.
I do feel bad that I got some of my gifts delivered late and many of my Christmas cards are still being mailed out...but at least I'm mailing em'....

FRIDAY!!
Talk about your monster snow "events"...it isn't pc to call them storms...We got a good 7 inches in Logan and it's sticking around for awhile. I even got to shovel my car out. I'm working a rare evening shift so I didn't have the luxury of having Dewey shovel and brush the snow for me. He did come up to the hospital and clear everything off so we could go to the Watkins Printing Christmas Party at Blackstone's tonight. Fellow operator Lara filled in for a few hours so I could go. I work with some really great people. I feel really blessed that I have a job I enjoy and good people to work with.
I watched my grand neice Aceley as she drew pictures for Nana and yelled at the falling snow. (When you're almost 2 the yelling is allowed.) She is a joy to watch. She gives me a fresh set of eyes with which to view the world. She's at that age where everything is hers ("MINE!") and she has no fear - when gives me heart attacks as she jumps on the bed or bounces down the stairs. I think she'll keep me young.

A New Beginning....
One of my coworkers asked me if I had a blog...and I told her I thought my life was too boring to write about...time will tell.
For anyone who doesn't know the story I'll tell you why there's a castle reference in the title. When Duane and I first met I almost always had some malady that he had to rescue me from....from flat tires to a ride home from chemo-therapy. So it was then that I decided he was my "knight in tarnished armour" and he dubbed me his Maiden "who's always in distress. (Personally after 25 years of marriage I think I should now be the Queen....
